Our Story
Hello, we are the Flower family, consisting of Judith, Neil, Oliver, Jodie and Claire and we own and run Heathcote Cottages. The cottages are on our working farm in Heathcote in the Peak District and were converted from an old stone barn on the farm which was completed in March 2023. Heathcote Hideaway was once a cowshed and Hayloft was used as feed storage so we have tried to keep some of the original features and character of the barn.
We purchased the farm in July 1991 and had our work cut out in the first few years turning it into a home fit for a family. Originally a farm designed to rear dairy youngstock, in 2000 we bought our first two pedigree Aberdeen Angus Cows and from then on we slowly grew the herd. Now the farm has an establisted herd of Aberdeen Angus cows, and the farm is becoming more and more the responsibility of our son Oliver, while we look after the holiday cottages and our guests.
Our mission with Heathcote Cottages is to provide a welcoming haven where guests can unwind and connect with nature. The cottages, offer a unique blend of traditional architecture and modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay.
