The beauty of the countryside is having walks readily available on your doorstep.

Please see below a couple of our local favourites… 

Tissington Trail 

• A nice, flat walk that runs through our fields
• Head out of the drive, right up towards the roundabout, then right again. Then once you get to the bridge you will find a track down the right hand side leading onto the trail. Turn left and you will head towards Tissington, or right towards Parsley Hay 

Beresford Dale leading to Dovedale 

• Walk or drive to Hartington, then head for Hartington farm shop and cafe/the public toilets. You will find the start of this route up some steps between the two. This walk will lead you down to the river and eventually Dovedale. 

Manifold Track 

• Head out of Hartington towards Hulme End station/Leek. You will find a carpark here and a cafe. At the end of the carpark is the start of Manifold Track which leads all the way to Waterhouses. 

Tittesworth Reservoir 

• Meerbrook (nearr leek) 
• 4.5 mile circular walk complete with brilliant park for the kids and cafe 

Carsington Water 

• Carsington, Ashbourne
• An 8 mile circular walk with large picnic area, park, cafe and shops
